Body recovered from Tyrone lake

The body of a fisherman in his 50s has been recovered from a lake in Co Tyrone.

The body of a fisherman in his 50s has been recovered from a lake in Co Tyrone.

Divers recovered the man's body this morning. Authorities received reports last night of a man falling into Carrick Lough, Aughnacloy, at 10.30 last night.

Police have named the man as 52-year-old John Thomas Shields, from the Belvoir area of Belfast.

His body was found by specially trained police search dogs and recovered from the lake by divers. Police are not treating the death as suspicious.

Carrick Lough, popular with anglers, is considered to be one of the best fisheries in Co Tyrone.
