THE BODY of a Dublin man who went missing in Belgium 11 days ago has been formally identified by his family.
Conor Synnott (33), from Dún Laoghaire, disappeared in the early hours of February 23rd and a major search was carried out by Belgian police and his family.
No foul play is suspected, according to Mr Synnott's family. His body was found by police, close to where he had been seen last near the Courts of Justice in Brussels.
Members of his family had flown from Ireland and Spain to help locate Conor and were joined in the search by members of the expat community in the city.
A website was set up to provide daily updates of the search progress and campaign and last night his family used it to thank everyone who supported them "tirelessly" in their bid to find Conor.
Meanwhile, the body of Rosanne Kenny, who went missing on New Year's Eve, has been formally identified by her family.
Her body was recovered from her car in the south Connemara harbour of Rossaveal on Sunday by the emergency services.
Her husband, Ralph Burke, has expressed his thanks to those who helped in the search.
Ms Kenny (42), from Kilmacud, had been missing since she left a hotel in Tullycross, north Connemara, on New Year's Eve. The Dublin schoolteacher was on holidays with her husband and brother in Co Galway.
Ms Kenny's removal takes place on Friday at 5pm and she will be buried in Shanganagh Cemetery on Saturday after 10am Mass.
