The body of a Co Clare farmer was found yesterday in the Shannon estuary after a search operation which began on Wednesday.
Mr Morgan McMahon (67), a bachelor, of Kildysart, went on the mile-long trip by boat to Canon Island to check on cattle. When he did not return home, the alarm was raised and his boat was found moored on the island. The body was found in the water about 400 yards away.
