A body found in Kildare yesterday has been identified as that of a man who had been missing since last November.

Gardaí said the man had been identified as 31-year-old Jason O'Dea, who was missing from his accommodation at Buckingham Street in the north inner city of Dublin since November 27th.

A postmortem examination was completed today at Naas General Hospital , but further tests have to be carried out, a Garda statement said.

"Gardaí are continuing to search the area around where the body was found and the investigation is ongoing."

Gardai have asked anyone with information, or anyone who saw any unusual activity in the Moyvalley area of Kildare since late November 2010 to contact them at Leixlip Garda station.
