Body found 32 miles off South-West coast

An unidentified body was discovered 32 miles off the coast, South-West of Valentia island last night.

An unidentified body was discovered 32 miles off the coast, South-West of Valentia island last night.

The discovery was made by a Spanish fishing vessel, the Cantabrico.

The Shannon Rescue Helicopter was due to airlift the body from the ship to Shannon this afternoon.

This course of action was being taken because the fishing vessel was not due ashore until February 3rd in Vigo, Spain.

The Gardaí are to receive the remains in Shannon.
