The body of a woman has been discovered in a wooded area in the Phoenix Park in Dublin.
The woman, understood to be in her 40s, was found off Military Road at 3.30pm. It is not known when she died.
A Garda technical team is carrying out an examination of the scene. The State Pathologist's Office has been notified. The body remains on the scene.
A Garda source said it appeared the woman had suffered a violent assault and the death is being treated as suspicious.
