Supt Declan Coburn from Tallaght Garda Station said: "About 11.30 this morning the gardaí were called to the house here at Killakee Walk . . . on arrival there and from preliminary examinations they discovered the body of a woman and two young boys.

"I would ask anybody who may have been in this area, who may have any information at all, an investigation has commenced, and they may call us at Tallaght Garda Station."

A forensic team is examining the house, and the bodies were removed to Tallaght Hospital at around 6.30 this evening for post mortem examination by deputy State Pathologist Dr Margaret Bolster.

"Until a post mortem has been conducted on the body I can't comment any further," Supt Coburn said.
