The body of Mr Tim White (33), of Froe, Roscarbery, Co Cork, was taken from the sea near the village early yesterday.
Sgt Sean Lee, of Roscarberyi, said a car went through an unprotected part of the pier at 8 a.m. yesterday and a full search was mounted. Some time later, the body was found and the car recovered.
The body of a man in his 30s was taken from the Liffey at City Quay by Dublin Fire Brigade yesterday. The body was spotted by a passer-by, who alerted gardai.
