PARIS - Algerian authorities said yesterday they had found the bodies of the seven French monks kidnapped two months ago by the Armed Islamic Group (GIA). The bodies were discovered near Medea, an Islamist stronghold 70km southwest of Algiers. The GIA said last week it had cut the monks' throats after Paris refused to negotiate a prisoner release.
