Arrangements for the appearance in Cork of classical singer Andrea Bocelli will be formally announced at Cork City Hall on March 30th.
A source has confirmed that the renowned tenor is to be the main attraction in a gala concert to be held at Collins Barracks on July 15th.
Negotiations have been completed, and the promoters are applying for a licence to permit the staging of the concert in the barrack square, which can hold some 10,000 people.
It is understood ticket sales on this scale will be needed to help meet the estimated €1 million cost.
