Los Angeles - Comedian Bob Hope, who turned 97 four days ago, underwent emergency surgery yesterday for an intestinal problem and was reported in stable condition, his spokeswoman said.
She said Hope was taken by ambulance to a hospital near his Palm Desert home where he underwent surgery. He was later transferred to another hospital where he was joined by his family.
