Two US soldiers were killed and one wounded today in a blast caused by an improvised bomb while they were on patrol in central Afghanistan, the US military said.

The blast occurred in the Deh Rawud district of Uruzgan province, said US military spokesman Major Mark McCann.

"We regret to say that two U.S. soldiers were killed and one was wounded," he said. "The wounded soldier was evacuated to a nearby US medical facility and is currently in stable condition."
