London - The Prime Minister, Mr Tony Blair, yesterday confirmed most of the new ministers he will promote, while putting an arm of support around some of his beleaguered existing colleagues.

He announced that the Paymaster-General, Mr Geoffrey Robinson, is to stay in his post after a troubled year during which he has faced allegations surrounding his private business interests.

And the Foreign Office Minister for State, Mr Tony Lloyd, has survived despite the high profile arms-to-Africa scandal.
