British Prime Minister Tony Blair said today the international community was closer than ever to making North Korea and Iran accept its demands to halt nuclear programmes.

"A couple of weeks ago Libya finally wound up its WMD programme. America has lifted sanctions. We have a better chance of getting Iran and North Korea into compliance than we have ever had," Blair told BBC radio, defending the war in Iraq.
