London - British Prime Minister, Mr Tony Blair, has commissioned an academic to write an official history of the 1982 war in which British troops drove Argentine forces from the disputed Falkland Islands.

Mr Blair said yesterday in a written answer to a parliamentary question in the House of Commons that he had appointed Prof Lawrence Freedman, Head of War Studies at Kings College, London, to write the history of the Falkland campaign.

Prof Freedman has already written two books on the Falklands war. - (Reuter)
