London - The British Prime Minister, Mr Tony Blair, promised yesterday to bring to justice those named as being involved in the Welsh child abuse scandal.
After Tuesday's publication of the Waterhouse report, the Tory leader Mr William Hague called for resources to be made available to track down 28 people pinpointed as being involved but whose whereabouts was currently unknown. Mr Hague demanded in the House of Commons that such cases be investigated and, where appropriate, prosecutions brought to ensure they never worked with children again.
Mr Blair replied: "Of course we will do that. It is necessary that we should do that." He said the report had uncovered an "appalling catalogue of terror and tragedy" inflicted on some of the most vulnerable in society.
