PALERMO - A Catholic bishop in the Mafia heartland of Sicily was ordered yesterday to stand trial on charges of graft and fraud involving European Union funds, judicial sources said.

They said Bishop Salvatore Cassisa of Monreale, near Palermo, was ordered to stand trial on July 18th. He denies the charges.
