New York - The city government is contemplating using birth control to fight the 70 million-strong population of rats in New York. "The city is exploring birth control for rats," Mr Richard Sheirer, an official in the mayor's office said. "We are exploring anything we can in this new age of science."

Mayor Rudolph Giuliani declared that he was upset by the huge rats that roam Manhattan. The mayor's office claims there are nine rats for every resident of New York.
