LONDON - A man was jailed for 15 months yesterday after a cockatoo he claimed was called Billy recognised its real owner and told police its name was in fact Primrose.

Police were not convinced that Billy was really Billy and took the bird, worth around £1,000, to meet Ms Sacha Hinds, who had had a cockatoo stolen from her pet shop. It immediately said hello and said its name was Primrose.
