Bill to assist disabled voters

Voting would be made easier for disabled people under a new Bill

Voting would be made easier for disabled people under a new Bill. The Bill, drafted by Fianna Fail's disability spokeswoman, Ms Mary Wallace, will not be opposed by the Government, although amendments may be proposed.

In its present form, the Bill proposes the use of accessible buildings as polling stations, the provision of braille templates for use with voting papers and the extension of postal voting to disabled people.
