Ankara - Turkey has warned the US that bilateral ties will suffer if the House of Representatives adopts a bill recognising the 1915 killings of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire as genocide.

A Turkish foreign ministry statement also said the approval of the bill on Thursday by the sub-committee of the International Operations and Human Rights would also hinder the normalisation of ties between Turkey and Armenia, as well as efforts to establish peace and stability in the Caucasus.
