LONDON - THE tower of Big Ben, that quintessential London landmark, could list by up to 2 cms as a result of nearby tunnelling for the London Underground extension, it was reported yesterday.
The Evening Standard, quoting from a leaked engineering report, said it was feared the excavation could undercut the foundations of the 136 year old tower.
