Investment company Belgravia Group said it no longer plans to make an offer for Newcastle United as it has not been able to agree on the price and transaction structure.

In response, the football club said it had been concerned with the length of time Belgravia was taking to decide about the offer, and had approached the Takeover Panel last week seeking a deadline for the company to put forward a proposal or withdraw.

Newcastle United said Belgravia had not made a formal offer.

Belgravia announced last August that it was examining the potential opportunity of acquiring the football club.
