MONS - Police have identified one of the female victims of a serial killer who has terrorised this ancient Belgian town for a month by leaving parts of up to six bodies in plastic bin bags.

The Mons assistant public prosecutor, Mr Didier Van reusel, said the victim "is a Belgian woman of local origin". Police have found 15 bin bags containing severed legs, arms, hands, feet, a torso and a head. The head belonged to the victim who was identified.
