Belfast man charged with attempted murder

Police have charged a man (29) with attempted murder following a shooting in Belfast last week.

Police have charged a man (29) with attempted murder following a shooting in Belfast last week.

He is accused of trying to kill a man (26) who suffered a leg injury when he was shot in the Stewartstown Road area of west Belfast last Wednesday.

The accused was arrested earlier today in the Poleglass area when police carried out a series of searches.

He is due to appear before Lisburn Magistrates Court this morning, said a Police Service spokesman.
