The 34th Belfast Festival at Queen's, which runs until November 23rd, was officially opened at a formal reception last night in the Great Hall of Queen's University.
The festival opened with a concert in the Whitla Hall given by the celebrated Belgian chamber orchestra, I Fiamminghi. The first night also featured Jennifer Johnston's The Desert Lullaby at the Lyric's Minifest, Trainspotting at the Arts Theatre and The Three Musketeers at the Grand Opera House.
