Councillors on Belfast City Council have voted against awarding £30,000 sterling to this year's St Patrick's Day parade in the city.

In a ballot last night the council members decided not to overturn an earlier decision to refuse to support the event.

According to unionist councillors the event was not yet inclusive enough for the council to endorse it.
