Fabien Barthez is aiming to lead Marseille back to European glory against Valencia in the UEFA Cup final in Gothenburg.

Barthez was the only survivor in coach Jose Anigo's line-up from the Marseille side which won the European Cup 11 years ago.  Striker Didier Drogba passed a fitness test and would start for the Frenchmen.

Pablo Aimar started on the bench for Valencia, seeking to grab continental glory after two European Cup runners-up spots.

Aimar is still struggling for full match fitness after injury so coach Rafael Benitez named Francisco Rufete in his place on the right.
