Ballycastle marks 200th anniversary

Celebrations to mark the 200th anniversary of the foundation of Ballycastle, Co Mayo, were inaugurated yesterday by the European Commissioner for Social Affairs, Mr Padraig Flynn. He said the occasion was a celebration of endurance and survival in an area which had a wonderful future with its rich historical aspects and the famous Ceide Fields.
