Ballina church to mark anniversary

The Presbyterian Church in Ballina, Co Mayo, will mark 150 years as a separate congregation with a special service of Thanksgiving on Sunday evening at its church in Walsh Street. The congregation's minister, the Rev John Scott, said the church started at the beginning of the great Famine which almost wiped out the congregation. The preacher will be the Rev Mary Hunter, moderator of the Presbytery of Dublin and Munster.
