Bail for woman on murder charge

A woman accused of the murder of a man who died following a stabbing in Galway has been granted bail

A woman accused of the murder of a man who died following a stabbing in Galway has been granted bail. Maura Thornton (30), Salthill, Galway, was remanded in custody last week charged with murdering Kevin Joyce (59), from Co Mayo, at an apartment in Salthill on July 31st. A postmortem revealed he had been stabbed several times.

Ms Thornton appeared at Dublin District Court yesterday where Judge Denis McLoughlin heard that bail had been granted to her at a sitting of the High Court on Monday.

Ms Thornton will appear again at Dublin District Court on August 22nd.
