An 18-month-old child died in Co Longford today when she was hit by a campervan.
The girl was fatally injured by the vehicle at the back of her house in Longford town at around 3pm.
The incident was reported to Longford gardaí by St Joseph’s Hospital, Longford at around 3.30pm.
Gardaí are treating it as a "tragic accident". A Garda spokesman said they are investigating the incident but have ruled out foul play.
