A baby girl has been found abandoned outside a church in Leixlip, Co Kildare.
The infant, who gardaí said was about three days old and in good health, was left at the front doors of Our Lady's Church, Station Road this morning.
She was dressed in baby clothes, wrapped in a towel and left in a plastic bag. The baby is now in the care of Our Lady's Hospital, Crumlin, where she has been named April.
Gardaí have appealed to the mother to come forward.
