London - A British Airways Concorde flight to New York was delayed by more than two hours yesterday when the airline had to draft in a replacement for a plane grounded after an engine change.

BA's precautionary plane swap came just a week after 113 people died when an Air France Concorde crashed near Paris. It was also the fourth incident in as many days involving BA's fleet of seven Concordes. One diverted to eastern Canada on Sunday after passengers said they smelled fuel in the cabin.

Air France, the only other Concorde operator, grounded its fleet after the fatal crash and yesterday decided not to bring the aircraft back into service for the time being.
