The average industrial earnings increased by 4.3 per cent in June compared to the previous year, according to the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
The CSO said industrial hourly earnings rose by 4.4 per cent while average hours worked remained unchanged for the same period.
Average weekly earnings of All Employees (Industrial, Clerical and Managerial) rose by 4.6 per cent in the year to June 2004.
The figures show the rise consisted of increases of 4.3 per cent for Industrial Employees and 4.4 per cent for Clerical and Managerial employees combined.
Other figures released today by the CSO show industrial employment was 243,700 in June, a decrease of 6,300 from June 2003.
Between March and June 2004 there was a seasonally adjusted increase of 1,400 in industrial employment.
