Vienna - Austria, under fire for the inclusion of the far-right in its new coalition government, was boycotted at an international gathering for the first time yesterday amid signs that some EU states may harden sanctions against Vienna.

The Belgian, French and Andorran ambassadors snubbed a speech given in Vienna by the new Austrian Foreign Minister, Ms Benita Ferrero-Waldner, to the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), which Austria currently chairs.
