As expected, the Rolling Stones announced they will appear at Slane Castle on Saturday, August 18 th, 25 years after their only previous appearance there.

Mick Jagger made the announcement during a webcast outlining the bands itinerary for their 2007 'A Bigger Bang' European tour.

They had been due to play at the Phoenix Park in Dublin in 2006, but, that gig was cancelled due to legal difficulties.

The Rolling Stones confirmed shows in the UK, Ireland, Holland, Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Russia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Portugal & Ukraine. Also a date in Switzerland is in the planning.

The tour will also feature the band headlining their first UK festival, the Isle of Wight Festival, on Sunday June 10

They will also be playing St Petersburg, Russia and shows in Croatia, Serbia & Ukraine for the first time ever.
