Paris - NASA astronauts have practised space sex to check which lovemaking positions are feasible without the benefit of the Earth's gravity, according to a new book by a French science journalist.

The problem was tackled during one of NASA's four space shuttle flights in 1996 which had women astronauts on board, according to author and former trainee-astronaut, Mr Pierre Kohler.
