A Limerick family escaped injury early yesterday when their house was subjected to an arson attack.

A Limerick family escaped injury early yesterday when their house was subjected to an arson attack.

Gardaí believe petrol was poured through the letterbox of the house on O'Callaghan Avenue, Kileely, before it was set alight at 1.50am.

At least one adult and a number of children were in the house at the time. Witnesses reported seeing a number of youths running from the house shortly before 2am yesterday.

Medical staff treated some members of the family at the scene.
