Police in Northern Ireland have arrested a 35-year-old man after a pensioner was found murdered in a house in Lurgan in Co Armagh on Thursday evening.

The victim, a 75-year-old man, has been named as Michael McGlennon, with an address at Mansefield Court in Lurgan. He is believed to have been stabbed.

He was found by police at around 8.30pm on Thursday evening.

The arrested man, who is understood to be the dead man’s son, remained in police custody yesterday evening.

A spokeswoman for the PSNI said that detectives were following a definite line of inquiry in their investigation.
