A man has been arrested after another man was shot in the face in Co Sligo. The gun attack happened at a house in Connolly Park, Tubbercurry, at about 8pm on Monday night.
The victim, in his 30s, was taken by ambulance to Sligo General Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
It is understood the shooting happened after an earlier argument between the men.
A Garda spokesman said a man was arrested at the scene and was detained at Ballymote Garda station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
The scene has been preserved pending a technical examination.
