WASHINGTON - The US army said yesterday that its top enlisted man will remain on duty at the Pentagon while it investigates "serious" charges of sexual harassment against him by a retired female soldier.
Sgt Maj Gene McKinney denied that he accosted a female sergeant major in a hotel in Hawaii last year and remained in his jobs as the top enlisted adviser to senior army leadership. He asked to be relieved of his duties on a panel reviewing sexual harassment policies in the service.
