A British army corporal from Shropshire in England pleaded guilty at the crown court in Derry to 11 charges of making indecent images of children in 2003 and 2004 while based in Ballykelly, Co Derry, writes George Jackson.
Seán O’Leary (33), from Madeley Close in Market Drayton, and a serving corporal based in Germany, had denied the offences and was due to go on trial yesterday before a jury.
However, his barrister Séamus McNeill, told Judge Desmond Marrinan that O’Leary wished to be rearraigned. When the charges were put to him O’Leary replied “guilty” to each.
