YEREVAN - Armenia held a presidential election yesterday dominated by bitter rivalry between President Ter Petrosyan and his former prime minister, Mr Vazgen Manukyan.

Mr Manukyan and his party, the National Democratic Union (NDU), alleged serious irregularities during the course of voting, and an international monitor said he had witnessed fraud committed in favour of Mr Ter Pettosyan.
