Armed robbery in Co Meath

Gardaí are investigating an armed robbery on a cash-in-transit van ìn Co Meath this afternoon.

Gardaí are investigating an armed robbery on a cash-in-transit van ìn Co Meath this afternoon.

Two men, one armed with a firearm, approached the van at about 1.20pm and demanded cash from the staff.

One shot was fired, but there were no reported injuries, a Garda spokesman said. Both men escaped on foot. The spokesman said it was not known what money, if any, was taken in the raid.
