GARDAI in Dunboyne, Co. Meath, are investigating a robbery at the home of an elderly woman which was ransacked by three men, two of them armed.
She was alone around 10.30 p.m. when both the back door and sitting room door were kicked down. She was threatened and then locked in a bedroom. The robbers ransacked the house and ripped out the telephone line before escaping.
The crime was reported to gardai when the woman's husband returned home about three hours later.
