Gardaí are investigating after a woman’s arm was discovered washed up on a south Dublin beach.

It was found by gardaí on patrol at Shankill beach on Thursday. Gardaí, who are not treating the discovery as suspicious, brought the limb to Dublin City Morgue in Marino for forensic investigation.

The limb has not been identified but gardaí say it is not linked to the discovery of a woman’s leg on Dollymount strand in north Dublin last week. Gardaí are treating that incident as a tragic accident.
