The architect responsible for conservation work carried out on Government Buildings in Merrion Square, Dublin, Mr Noel de Chenu, was presented with an award by the Taoiseach, Mr Ahern, yesterday. Mr de Chenu, former principal architect at the Office of Public Works, received the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland conservation silver medal, one of the RIAI's highest honours.
