The Presbyterian Church in Ireland has appealed to the UN Human Rights Commissioner, Mrs Mary Robinson, and the British and Irish governments to put pressure on the Indonesian authorities to restore order in the Maluku islands in Indonesia. It has been reported that up to 5,000 people have been killed in recent violence there between Christians and Muslims.
