Some 92 jobs have been created by a pork processing business in Co Antrim, it was revealed today.

Dunbia Ballymena acquired the Stevenson plant in January and has increased the workforce by 92.

Dunbia group managing director Jim Dobson said: “We originally projected our acquisition of Stevenson’s & Co to create up to 70 jobs.

“By leveraging our scale and distribution networks, however, we have been able to grow our pork distribution business well beyond those expectations and it continues to grow.

He said the acquisition was made possible through part-funding by the Bank of Ireland.
